Rutherford County’s Community Crossroads website is being built to more effectively network broad-based interaction between Agencies, Churches, and Businesses in order to better address the most challenging difficulties and problems that we each encounter in life, whether personally, as a family, or among those we know. Our aim is to make it possible for anyone to be able to find just the right sort of help they need, quickly and easily, without having to compromise their privacy or dignity, wherever an online-capable computer may be found.

The Community Crossroads website you are presently viewing is an early “prototype” containing the main topic areas addressed by our project, though at present only in a basic outline form. A new, fully programmed and interactive site is now under development and will be posted on the internet in place of this present website as soon as it is finished.

The new website will enable anyone who needs immediate assistance with any sort of family or individual situation to find the most appropriate Social Service Agency resource available in Rutherford County through HELP SEARCH. In addition, site visitors will also be able to locate a Church of their preferred denominational affiliation through CHURCH SEARCH, and even shop for goods and services at the best, civic minded, familiy-oriented businesses in the County through BIZ SEARCH, the directory of Community Crossroads’ SPONSORS.

YOUR SPONSORSHIP support will go directly to the ongoing development of this innovative website system, its ongoing expansion, and –most important – positively and proactively addressing the circumstances of those who need help, locally everywhere: Once Rutherford County’s Community Crossroads website is fully operational, we will begin expanding its service into surrounding communities. Using the Community Crossroads’ templated online utilities, each community will be able to add their own local agencies in a searchable structure, their Churches (each of which may have their own outreach ministries that dove-tail with the work of local Agencies), and those “salt-of-the-earth” Businesses that have true community service at heart of all they do.

Each Sponsorship amount is a matter of personal decision for the individual or business who would like to join the “Crossroads Community.” We are a 501c3 Non-Profit Corporation (EIN# 20-0384853); therefore we are not “selling advertising.” A parallel example of what we mean by “sponsorship” is what you hear on Public Radio or see on Public Television at the open and close of a program. The primary difference in the Community Crossroads strategy is simply that our Sponsors are also contributing (beyond the development of the website and its administrative/operational costs) toward a local FUND set aside by each local Community Crossroads Chapter Committee to address the needs of local non-profit agencies, outreach ministries, families, and individuals on a case-by-case basis. Each Chapter, for each local/regional community that deploys its own Community Crossroads site, serves as a “Clearing House” – administering their own Fund in an appropriate manner to meet the real and pressing needs that arise in their community.

In short, Community Crossroads is a key, essential, vast program intended to rehabilitate a collective attitude of shared responsibility for creating a substantively better tomorrow for one another, from the ground up, one neighborhood at a time, nationwide. This is a simple strategic plan for utilizing the internet to generate and facilitate trusting relationships and timely, cooperative action between caring people everywhere.

Thank you for your attention and thoughtful reflection. We hope you’ll find your way to come alongside and partner with us in what promises to be not only a long-term endeavor, but also a redemptive unfolding of God’s prevailing grace and visible mercy in our midst.
